Bronc Riding

Bronc Riding – Rodeo’s Timeless Classic

Bronc riding is a rodeo classic, bringing us back to the sport’s roots and cowboy tradition. Riders aim to stay on a bucking bronco for eight intense seconds, using skill, rhythm, and sheer strength to stay in sync with the unpredictable movements of the horse. Bronc riding embodies the spirit of the Old West, capturing the heart and soul of rodeo culture.

Saddle Bronc and Bareback

At the Sacramento Rodeo, you’ll see both saddle bronc and bareback bronc riding, each with its unique challenges. In saddle bronc, riders use a specialized saddle and rein to maintain control while matching the horse’s rhythm. In bareback, riders must hold onto a single handhold as they face the full force of the bronco’s powerful kicks. Both styles require incredible balance, core strength, and mental focus.

Meet the Horses

Our bronc riding horses are among the finest in the circuit, specially trained and selected for their agility, power, and skill in the arena. Each bronc’s unpredictable movements add to the excitement, making every ride a unique experience.

Feel the Legacy

Bronc riding is not just a rodeo event; it’s a tribute to the cowboy way of life. Witness a true test of skill and bravery, where cowboys go head-to-head with broncs, recreating the timeless challenges of the frontier. Be ready to witness rodeo history in action!
